Meet Pastor James
A graduate of Redeemer University and Calvin Theological Seminary, Pastor James, along with his wife Marilyn and their four children, moved to Montreal to join First CRC in August of 2018. Pastor James is known for his solid preaching. His sermons are at the same time biblical and pragmatic, helping us to understand God’s will for us in a down to earth way. Pastor James and his family are very excited about serving this very special corner of North America and are looking forward to meeting you.

Our Programmes
For Boys
We have a great boys club called Cadets! The Calvinist Cadet Corps is an international church sponsored boys club organization that’s involved in building tomorrow’s leaders today.
Cadetting is about boys and their counselors working side by side on Bible lessons, Christian service projects, outdoor activities (camping, hiking, canoeing, and much more), and working on merit badge projects — selecting from a wide range of interests and skills. We meet every second Friday from 7-9 PM.

For Girls
Girls are active, imaginative, and unique. And GEMS offers them the perfect place to learn and grow as they discover who God created them to be. It’s an exciting, safe environment for girls to learn about God, His Word, and His world.
GEMS is an acronym for Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior. The club meets every second Friday to see girls actively and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others – girls equipped, motivated, and passionately engaged in living out their faiths.

For Youths
Being a teen is all about connections – with other teens and with an authentic, loving God that you can relate to in a real world – your world. Our youth leaders Don and Presleigh invite you to join us for Youth Group every second Friday evening to play games, make friends, and learn about the salvation offered by Jesus. We also go on weekend retreats, conferences and mission trips throughout the year.

For Adults
Join us and uncover biblical answers to today’s questions in a small group setting during our adult education sessions. Ask your questions, share your thoughts or just listen in. Every Sunday at 9:30 am, before the worship service. Lead by Pastor James.
Every Wednesday at 10:00 am, Pastor James hosts a Bible study for anyone who wants to discover or explore God’s Word for us.

In addition to what we do in-house, we actively support community building initiatives with our ministry partners, including the Ministry to Seafarers, Christian Direction, West Island Mission, and the West Island Network of churches, plus globally through the shared ministries of the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
